How To Fertilize Your Lawn
The Right Way

As a personal practice that you prpbably won't read anywhere else, I've always used tree fertilizer in place of lawn fertilizer at least once a year. The reason is that most lawn fertilizers don't have any micro-nutrients such as zink, copper, iron, and such. They only have a balanced mix of the three major macro-nutrients - Nitrogen, Potasium, and Phosphorus.

While there is generally enough of these nutrients in minor quantities in most soils, other vegetation like a lot of trees in the area will use these resources up. So if you have a lot of trees, shrubs, and other plants, you may consider this method.
